Walkenny Park Riding Pony Stud

Walkenny Park Stud is a small horse stud situated in Drumborg Western Victoria, that has been operating since 1998. The stud specialises in breeding quality galloways and large ponies rangeing between 13hh to 15hh that are of riding pony type also carrying arabian riding pony and thourbred blood lines. The horses that Walkenny Park breed and raise all have outstanding temperments, which are quite enough for young children to handle and ride as well as being competative at major shows and at Royal level.

Walkenny Park is a Riding Pony Stud which is situated in the Western District Of Victoria.

Owned and run by EFA NCAS Level 1 Coach Denise Farrugia. Walkenny Park Riding Pony Stud became part of Denise and her husband David's beef property which was established in the early 1980's.

Denise has had a life time involvement with horses and in 1998 decided to establish Walkenny Park Riding Pony Stud, a life long dream that finally became reality. The first mare to be retained as a broodmare to the stud was Denise's well known show mare, Ebony Rose, who displayed Arabian blood as well as Riding Pony blood. This mare is still a part of the stud today having produced four foals.

The stud has a small number of quality mares that have already proven themselves prior to breedig. They are sent off to well knowm stallions such as Egyptian King, a Thoroughbred owned by Mrs Helen Clark of Shaundale Park; or to a Beckworth Stallion which are Riding Ponies standing at Prue Harvey's Beckworth Riding Pony Stud. Walkenny Park aims to produce a small number of saddle Galloways each year which are of Royal Quality but are quite enough for an adult to ride as well as a child.

Our stud introduces the combination of Riding Pony and Thoroughbred bloodlines of which we have produced some outstanding prospects as future Galloways.
