Walkenny Park is a Riding Pony Stud which is situated in the Western District Of Victoria. Owned and run by EFA NCAS Level 1 Coach Denise Farrugia. Walkenny Park Riding Pony Stud became part of Denise and her husband David's beef property which was established in the early 1980's. Denise has had a life time involvement with horses and in 1998 decided to establish Walkenny Park Riding Pony Stud, a life long dream that finally became reality. The first mare to be retained as a broodmare to the stud was Denise's well known show mare, Ebony Rose, who displayed Arabian blood as well as Riding Pony blood. This mare is still a part of the stud today having produced four foals. The stud has a small number of quality mares that have already proven themselves prior to breeding. They are sent off to well knowm stallions such as Egyptian King, a Thoroughbred owned by Mrs Helen Clark of Shaundale Park; or to a Beckworth Stallion which are Riding Ponies standing at Prue Harvey's Beckworth Riding Pony Stud. Walkenny Park aims to produce a small number of saddle Galloways each year which are of Royal Quality but are quite enough for an adult to ride as well as a child. Our stud introduces the combination of Riding Pony and Thoroughbred bloodlines of which we have produced some outstanding prospects as future Galloways.
